WOW already February and this is our first post!!
Lest get the niceties out of the way,
We hope you all had a lovely Christmas and Happy 2016!!
Ok with that all done and dusted lets crack on with our first 2016 post shall we!
Anyone that knows me knows im a major craft fan, you name it I've tried it! Cross Stitching, Card Making, Jewellery, the list is endless. So when i saw that the Hobby Crafts show, hosted by ICHF Events (here) was coming to the NEC i may have twisted the other half's arm to take me, and to my surprise he did!
I may have withheld the fact that there was in fact 3 shows on and not just the 1 but he didn't complain once he found out *bonus*
I never really realised just how popular these shows were until we got to the NEC, there were cars upon cars parking up, not to mention the coaches! Also with the train station just a stones throw away it was a place that EVERYONE can access.
With 100+ stalls I'm not surprised it brings in the crowds!
First we headed to the main event hall. With a Hubby, a 10 year old and a baby in a pushchair i expected to be wanting to leave within minutes but there were loads of room between the stalls and plenty of rest stops dotted about the hall.
Our 10 year old was mesmerised with the painting demonstrations that were going on, she didn't understand how it was possible to start with a blank canvas and create such detailed and stunning paintings yourself...... we had to practically drag her away!
We stopped by some of the Jewellery stalls and demos, which were beyond popular as all their spaces were full unfortunately *must remember to book places next time*
Our daughter was a little bummed about this until she spotted a 3D cross stitching stall. All the creations were in one way or another 3D, from houses to scenery and Christmas trees to cards and bookmarks, which our daughter bought. All the details in these creations were beautiful and im not surprised the lady had sold out on a few items that i heard people asking for.
I fell in love with the stalls that had the 'Create your own animal' some of these were out of this world and not to mention HUGE!!
My favourite stalls has to be the Cross Stitching ones, the colours and styles that are available is just amazing and id love to be able to just stitch all day every day!!
Below are just a FEW examples of the stitchings that were available on the day...... i probably took way more photos than necessary!
Another love of mine is card making and this next stall i probably spent the most time in. Their cards and beyond words, i especially fell in love with their Alice In Wonderland creations and their very fancy Fabulous Festive Fashion range.
After a spot of lunch and a feet rest we ventured into the Crafts for Christmas hall.
This place had everything!
Handmade Clothes, Shoes, Toys, Glass, Jewellery, Gifts, Food and much much more. We bought a few Christmas gifts and our daughter bought a couple of gifts for her friends.
The knitted Christmas Tree and Santa's Grotto was out of this world
and our Daughter even got to meet Mrs Claus...... Obviously Santa was busy at the North Pole ;)
All in all it was a brilliant day had by all..... even the Hubby!
BUT don't take our word for it because its all happening again! Well, without the Christmas theme.
From March 17th - 20th March these and many others will be heading for the NEC again
